The energy can generate about 3,000 GWh/year to supply to more than 1.5 million people annually. EDP Group subsidiary EDP Renewables has announced the inauguration of its largest wind farm complex worldwide in Brazil. The complex has an installed capacity of 580 MW and 138 wind turbines in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Here EDP Renewables has a strong presence with over 800 MW of wind energy installed and more than 300 MW under construction. EDP group is the fourth largest generator of wind and solar energy in the world. As per the statement of EDP Renewables, the wind energy project includes the Monte Verde I-VI, Boqueirão I-II and Jerusalém I-VI wind farms. All can generate a capacity of about 3,000 GWh/year that can supply power to a city of more than 1.5 million inhabitants.
