To deploy electric buses in the twin capital cities of Jammu and Kashmir, Tata Motors has formed a strategic partnership. According to Tata Motors, as part of Jammu & Kashmir’s initiative for ecologically friendly public transportation, 150 units of 9-meter and 50 units of 12-meter Starbus electric buses will be provided. The electric buses will be provided, run, and maintained by Tata Motors for 12 years as part of the contract.

According to the company, Tata Motors has operated 40 electric buses in Jammu and Kashmir since 2019 in addition to a total of 715 electric buses in various Indian cities that have cumulatively traveled more than 40 million kilometers with an uptime of over 95%.
