NTPC Tenders for 1000 MW Solar Projects Under DBDT Scheme

NTPC has tendered for setting up solar power projects under the DBDT scheme to a maximum capacity of 1000 MW.

NTPC Ltd. has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible parties for setting up of grid-connected solar power projects under the Develop Build Demonstrate Transfer (DBDT) scheme to a maximum capacity of 1000 MW.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the projects. The scope of work also includes the operation and maintenance of the projects for a period of 3 years after the successful completion of the trial run of the projects. And installation of the SCADA system for remote monitoring, module cleaning system, and all associated electrical and civil work, including the evacuation of power.

As per the tender, a single bidder can bid for a maximum capacity of 300 MW, and the awarded capacity to each developer, ranging between 50 MW to 300 MW, must be developed as smaller projects – in multiples of 10 MW – on a turnkey basis.

The last date for bid submission is November 18, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on November 19, 2019. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for November 4, 2019, to address the concerns raised by prospective bidders.

The bid security amount to be submitted along with the bids will range between Rs 2 crore (Under 50 MW) and Rs 20 crore (230 MW-300 MW) based on the size of the bid submitted.

To be eligible for participating in the bid, the developers must have experience of having designed,  supplied, erected and commissioned of solar grid-connected power plant(s) of cumulative installed capacity of 40 MWp or higher, out of which at least one plant should have been of 10 MWp or higher capacity. The reference plant of 10 MWp or higher capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six months prior to the date of techno-commercial bid opening.

Financially, the average annual turnover of the bidder, should not be less than Rs 210 crore during the preceding three financial years as on date of techno-commercial bid opening.
