PEDA Floats Tender to Set Up 220 MW Solar Plants in Punjab By Soumya Duggal/ Updated On Wed, Oct 6th, 2021 Highlights : The tender is under the PMKUSUM scheme for plants ranging from 1 to 2 MW in size. The prime target for the scheme is farmers, although other categories are also allowed with conditions. The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has invited applications from interested farmers for setting up solar PV power plants of individual capacity 1, 1.5 or 2 MW in Punjab under the PM-KUSUM Scheme for sale of power to Punjab State Power Cooperation Limited (PSPCL). The total aggregate capacity of solar power plants to be set up in the state is 220 MW. Interested farmers, groups of farmers, panchayats, cooperatives, farmer producer organisations, and water user associations can apply for the tender. The solar power generated by the plants will be purchased by PSPCL at the prefixed Levelised tariff of Rs. 2.748/KwH for 25 years notified by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). In case the total aggregate capacity of eligible applications received for a particular 66Kv sub-station is more than the capacity notified for connectivity at that sub-station, then reverse e-competitive bidding (discount on pre fixed levelled tariff at Rs 2.748/Kwh) will be carried out for selection of solar power generators (SPGs) and allocation will be based on the lowest tariff offered in ascending order until the target capacity is achieved.
