Rourkela Steel Plant Develops 1MW Solar Plant

Inside the premises of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of SAIL Ltd is known to have installed a 1 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation unit, of Rs 6.68 crore.

The framework, which is in the last phase of commissioning, is relied upon to produce minimum of 1.479 million units of solar energy per annum, RSP says in a statement.

It is likewise introducing different facilities for generation of environment friendly power energy. Two 5 KW housetop solar oriented PV power generation frameworks have been introduced and seven frameworks are in the pipeline.

RSP is additionally in the process of establishing a 15 MW hydro power project on the downstream of Mandira Dam in collaboration with GEDCOL.
