Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has announced that it has received a 68 MW order from Dirkshof Estonia OÜ to power the Aidu project in Estonia. Dirkshof Estonia OÜ is a German wind energy developer and service provider.

Vestas held that the order includes supply, installation, and commissioning of 15 V150-4.5 MW turbines. It has also gained a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

The wind project site is located in Lüganuse parish, Ida-Viru County, in the North-Eastern part of Estonia. The delivery and installation of the wind turbines are expected to occur in the third quarter of 2023 with the commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

Juan Furones, Vice President Sales for Northern and Central Europe at Vestas, said, “We are honoured to continue the partnership with Dirkhof to deliver this project to Aidu. Aidu will contribute to further decarbonise Estonia and we are proud to support this project with our industry-leading wind energy solutions”.

Vestas offers sustainable energy solutions that include design, manufacture, install, and service onshore and offshore wind turbines across the globe. It has installed over 164 GW of wind turbines in 87 countries. Its data capabilities has gained it over 144 GW of wind turbines under service.

Recently, Vestas announced the expansion of its partnership with Engie Brasil Energia SA where it will be providing 64 units of wind turbines for the 288 MW wind energy project in Brazil. It also received a 236-MW order from Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy, a long-term client from Pori, to power the Siikajoki wind project in North Ostrobothnia in Finland.

The 15 MW wind turbines of Vestas got the Danish government nod for its first deployment at the Frederikshavn offshore wind farm. Vestas also joined hands with Max Bögl- a German multinational major construction company- to establish a tower solution with a record-breaking hub height for 7 MW onshore wind turbines.
