After solarisinga 100 schools in Telangana, the state government now targets to put solar panels on the buildings of 500 schools by the coming March. The objective is to decentralise electricity generation and make the schools free from power shedding challenges. In 2022, the Telangana government had said that it aims at installing rooftop solar in 1,521 government run schools in 12 districts. The total cost was projected at Rs 32 crore. Officials said installation of solar panels would not only help in bringing down the annual power bills of the schools to a large extent but also help them in earning money through the excess power generated and transferred to the grid. 4000 Homes with Solar Panels & EV Parking To Be Up For Grabs in Maharashtra Soon Also Read Sources say that the state run schools are witnessing rise in the employment and use of computer systems and related IT facilities as the classrooms are getting interactive of late.
